Attorney Stephen Spano is Board Certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation and is an adjunct professor in the post-doctoral Estate Planning and Elder Law LL.M Program at Western New England University School of Law and serves on the Board of Directors of The Community Family. He has served on the Board of Directors and as President of the National Elder Law Foundation, the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys Massachusetts Chapter. He is one of the founders of the Massachusetts Guardianship Association and served as a member of the Board of Directors of The Greater Medford Visiting Nurses Association, Greater Lynn Senior Services, one of the largest area agencies on aging in Massachusetts and received a "Partner of the Year Award" from Mystic Valley Elder Services.
Recognized nationally by his peers, he is consistently named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer and has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. In addition to his law degree, he has a MBA and a BA in both English and Psychology. He enjoys trial work and argued the first successful child caregiver contract case in Massachusetts before the Superior Court. He regularly presents educational seminars for professionals and the general public. He serves in various capacities in several nonprofit organizations and donates his time and experience to many senior organizations. Attorney Spano has 33 years of experience working with elders and families to enable them to live their lives independently and with dignity.
